Tension has great benefits, but unfortunately, there are few who want to be under tension. A large number of people are willing to settle for an average life. Furthermore, many opportunities, dreams, and goals are not fulfilled because people do not want to be under stress.

Watch Video

Many years ago, I attended a Christmas dinner at my husband’s job. The room was very elegant and the tables were beautifully decorated. At each table, there were about 8 to 10 people and I remember that in the middle of dinner, with my broken English, I tried to say that the chicken was delicious, but really what I said was that the kitchen was delicious. I don’t know why, but those two words were confusing to me. I don’t even want to remember the faces that my husband and everyone who sat at the table made. Nobody commented I guess to be polite, but my husband reminded me of this for a long time.

Learning to speak English, for me, was a great challenge as I understood that I had no choice living in the United States. This continuous tension became the reason I was willing to not only make all the necessary mistakes but to continue studying and practicing until I managed to communicate confidently in English.

A large percentage of people only use a small part of their abilities and do not work to develop their full potential. In some cases, there is enough tension in their lives, but they do not want to grow. In other cases, although they have the desire to grow, they do not have enough tension. In both cases, people end up settling and everything in their lives is average.

But what does it really mean to be average? Not from a mathematical point of view, of course. Being average is nothing else than living in a world of conformity.

Deepak Chopra, a writer, and a physician specializing in alternative medicine, in his desire to help us go further in our lives, commented in one of his books about those who live with an average mind. He mentioned that this average mind is not focused, it is superficial and it has no purpose, “it is incapable of making its intentions bear fruit in any significant way.”

In a world where the majority desires not to be under stress due to change, what can we do to see change as an opportunity and not settle?

Desire to develop your potential despite the circumstances. The tension produced by the gap that exists between who you are today and your potential can be used to continue improving.

Surround yourself with people seeking the next level of success. Associate with those who are searching for better results and achievements in their lives; this will help you get out of your comfort zone.

Make the decision to achieve a new goal. Regularly those who have decided to accomplish their goals, work every day to attain them.

We all feel the tension and stress caused by the changes, due to instability and uncertainty. However, not all of us react in the same way. It is true that many can feel stuck, ignore what is happening, or even run away to avoid facing reality. However, a leader must be prepared for constant change and use it to reach higher goals, move further, and even take advantage of changing situations to grow.

Many people don’t take responsibility for their own growth. Instead of trying to excel, they barely get ahead. If you want to become the person you were created to be, you must do more than experiment with life. Growing is not an option. You can start reaching your full potential today by working with us. We are here to help you.
