The disadvantage is not really that you fail to do what you said you were going to do or that you are consciously or unconsciously avoiding your daily schedule.

The real problem is that you are not doing anything about it, which can confuse you in your next step.

As mentioned above, the reason why your plans are not fulfilled may be out of your hands; but it may also be that you do not have the ability to understand what is happening or the necessary intention to carry out your plan.

I suggest two evaluations:

1. Evaluate the process: Between what was planned and what was executed, between the desired and the results obtained. Taking corrective action in time can be the difference between succeeding in your plan or not.
2. Evaluate your performance: what you are doing and what you are not. Evaluating the areas that require more commitment on your part and how you are facing challenges; furthermore, the areas where you have grown and the areas where you have not. Let’s remember that the best things in life are worth the sacrifice.

The result should be your next step and a confirmation that your plan is – with the knowledge you have so far – your best option to achieve your goal.

I have met people who have spent a great deal of their lives chasing a dream that was not theirs. Perhaps their parents suggested or demanded some profession or career, or someone in their community influenced them, or in their younger years, they wanted to copy the success of a famous person. None of these beginnings would be wrong if it wasn’t for the fact that you don’t 100% fit into others’ dreams. Just as you are unique, your dream is also unique and only you know it.

Your goal does not only come from your mind, but it also comes from your heart. If there is one footprint of success that we can confidently learn from and that would not be wrong to copy, it is that those who achieve success have enough motivation and inspiration from their hearts to achieve their goals.

Second, you need to create your action plan. One of the important parts of the “action plan” is the execution, and for this, it is essential that it be designed to add your personal touch.

To add this personal touch, you must work in these three areas:

1. Eliminate excesses: look at your daily schedule, identify the activities that do not contribute to your objective, and decide to eliminate or delegate them. A day has 24 hours, and it is not possible for you to add more activities to your agenda if it is already full.
2. Fragment what you want to achieve: Your goal is your objective; however, in the process of reaching it, you must achieve small daily steps. This is where you must honestly and realistically use your calendar or planner and estimate how much time you will spend each day to accomplish each step toward your goal.
3. Use your strengths: In your strengths, you are strong. Your strengths have everything to do with what you want to achieve in your life. If you haven’t taken a personality test yet, do it today. Understanding your strengths will allow you to use them.

Remember that success does not only include achieving the goal, but it is also the journey you travel to achieve it. In truth, success is and must be achieved daily.

• Surround yourself with the right leaders, you will not be alone, and you will multiply your efforts.
• Reach new levels of achievement, so you will create new ways to reach more resources.

The second fundamental rule of resources: is your time, your most expensive resource. Let me be clear, we cannot manage time. All of us have 24 hours per day, but you can manage yourself and make the most of it.

Last but not least, the third fundamental rule of resources: is association. Let there be no mistake; no one reaches success alone. As previously stated, the way to multiply your efforts is by surrounding yourself with a great team.

In summary, you already have the resources to start reaching your goals; you may not have them all now, and that is precisely the point. Finding more resources will help you become the person you need to be to achieve your goal, that person who truly believes in your goals and who will be able to achieve them.

For example, behavior-related habits seem easy to deal with but can last for a week, a month, or even a year. However, habits related to our understanding are not easy to deal with but will sustain us for the rest of our lives.

Habits are behaviors that are repeated consistently. They arise at the moment when the decisions that we make deliberately, are repeated until we no longer decide them, but simply make them.

Wishing for a goal is not enough. For example, we usually feel a lot of emotions when we hear that a famous singer, that we like, is having a concert on the weekend, close to where we live. Despite how excited we are, if we don’t take action to find the event information, buy the tickets, and prepare to attend, we will most likely just hear on the news how amazing the concert was. It’s that simple, longing for a goal doesn’t get us there if we don’t act.

I recommend you develop this technique in writing. Have a SMART goal:

• Specific: describe exactly what you want,
• Measurable: use a way to evaluate and/or measure it,
• Achievable: establish short and achievable steps daily,
• Realistic: Include resources according to your abilities and your goal,
• Timely: adds the execution and completion date.

Do not limit your faith or your imagination. If nobody has ever reached it before, magnificent. If you believe it, you will achieve it.
